Bit steep really. A nice two door or wagon might fetch 4 or 5 grand, but it seems like the sedans are less in demand. Also, the carpet and dash are fucked. Unless it's really sound mechanically, thats a slight CP.

Unless you REALLY want an Amazon, and there aren't any others around. Which is pretty likely. :)

Haha, that's exactly the case. But hey, it's not in the cards for me anyways. I'll just need to get around to framing my vintage Volvo ads...

DO EET. Seriously, it's slightly CP, but owning an Amazon is awesome.

Yeah the one I bought a few years ago was a basket case, but I couldn't stay away. I got that car for $200 and it was a running, driving deathtrap. I sank maybe $200 more into it, and it was less death-trappy, but I could still see the road beneath me through the holes in the floor, and I had to wear earplugs if I drove for more than an hour. But I did drive it. A lot. and I miss it. A lot.

Honestly, an Amazon is on my list of realistic dream cars... I never knew they were so affordable... I need a local one to pop up... and a garage , then I will

God its just soooo tempting!

It sure looks nice. Hard to really argue as long as the body is good. See how much rust repair is really needed. The trim all looks in place, and that's the hardest stuff to find. I think it's a case of a nice car with too many doors so it has a good asking price. The old pushrod Volvo motors are nice to work with. The SU's can be a headache, and a money pit. If you get it, I have an 8 bolt B20 motor, a spare big valve head and some overbore flat top pistons sitting here. Along with a spare 4 speed. My 242 doesn't need them anymore. They're in the way of the V8 ;)

Ooh, nice, good luck! This for me is purely a hypothetical, unfortunately.
